AI EXPO 2026 in Suzhou — smartwatch, EV motor and paint inspection on show
At the AI product application expo held at the Suzhou International Expo Centre from 30 July to 1 August, DSTEK showed three AI vision inspection solutions for 3C and automotive.
The 2026 AI Product Application Expo ran from 30 July to 1 August at the Suzhou International Expo Centre, with new industrialisation, large models and the AI compute supply chain as its themes. DSTEK took part as a leading company in AI for industrial vision.
Three live demonstrations
- Smartwatch AI vision inspection — DSTEK’s own CEI optical imaging system images structurally complex areas such as the FC screen, the PCB side and the mid-frame R corners, finding defects on 3D curved and flat surfaces: scratches, white spots, chipped screens, mura, lamination bubbles, cold solder joints and glue overflow. The same set-up covers phones, watches and frames.
- EV drive-motor stator, robot-mounted fly-capture inspection — an ultra-fast fly-capture camera on a robot arm inspects the end faces, outer diameter and bore in full, catching copper-wire damage, insulation-paper faults, porosity and weld blow-outs, with label OCR and sub-pixel dimensional measurement.
- Car-door paint AI vision inspection — AI combined with phase-deflectometry imaging inspects high-gloss 3D paint at micrometre level without glare. A robot carries 2D/3D sensors while Handdle AI analyses the data in real time and feeds it back into path planning, closing the loop. Orange peel, scratches, dents, paint loss and colour mismatch are detected.
DSTEK solutions run on more than 15,000 production lines in over 30 countries.
